How the calculator works
Distance based
Toll equals miles travelled times the per-mile rate for your vehicle class and payment method. The Ohio Turnpike has no per-plaza or per-zone charges; you pay one toll on exit.
Quarter-dollar rounding
The published Schedule of Tolls rounds every fare to the nearest 25 cents. The calculator applies the same rounding so you see the actual amount the toll plaza will charge.
Direction matters
Eastbound and westbound fares can differ slightly because the official fare matrix is computed separately for each direction. The calculator infers your direction from your entry and exit selections.
Minimum tolls applied
Very short trips have a class-scaled minimum toll: roughly $1.50 E-ZPass / $2.00 cash for Class 1, scaling up for heavier vehicles. The calculator applies the floor automatically.
Don't have an E-ZPass?
Most regular Turnpike users save money with an E-ZPass even after the $25 refundable deposit. See whether it pays off for your usage pattern with the break-even calculator, or read the full E-ZPass guide first.
